If you have been on social media for any amount, you will know just how easily people get into spats. Today we will be talk about a spat between the political commentator Paul Mason and the MP for South West Devon Gary Streeter.
You may be asking why I am writing about some stupid Twitter spat two people had. The reason I am talking about these tweets it displays the complete disregard Gary Streeter has for free speech. But for let me give you some context, this whole Twitter spat started when Paul Mason twitted a reply to Johnny Mercer MP sarcastically hoping that he join in with the “laughter” of his tory mates for sending “more Plymouth nurses to the food bank”.
Hope you joined in the braying and laughter of your upper class Tory mates as they sent more Plymouth nurses to the food bank

So in getting into the main part of this story. after that reply by Paul Mason, Gary Streeter MP decided to get involved with a reply that is deeply concerning for for anyone who is pro-freespeech:
This is why i hate social media. It gives a voice to people who dont deserve one https://t.co/7DmVwa92ND

Yes you read that right, Gary Streeter thinks that some people don’t deserve a voice which is extremely undemocratic and should tell you everything you need to know about how the main stream political parties hate free speech.
