Previously on Political Pub, I wrote an article about how food bank usage increased by 1704% since the conservatives came to power in 2010.
Edit: I need to make it more clear that this article talks about the amount of food parcels giving out by the The Trussell Trust and not necessary the amount of people using the food bank.
Anyway, I was on The Trussell Trust website and was looking at how many emergency food parcels they had provided and noticed that the number went up every year even tho we are meant to be this huge bull market. After putting the number into Excel, I decided to try to predict how the number of people using the food bank would change over the next couple of years.
To predict those future numbers, I calculated the average percentage increase between the years of 2013 to 2017 (Earlier years were not included as the huge jumps would make the prediction extremely unlikely to come true).
So based on those numbers, I calculate that food bank usage will increase by 9.22% per year, which would mean that an estimated 1,541,253 people will use the food bank between the years 2019 to 2020.
